Why Hydrolysed Whey Protein?

Why Hydrolysed Whey Protein?

Hi lovely people – it’s Adam here, founder of whey’d. A question I get asked a lot is why don't you have a range of different types of whey protein? So in keeping with being as open and honest as can be, I have written this blog...enjoy!

My answer to the above question is simple - we don’t want to offer ANY substandard products. The only product whey’d will offer is the highest quality whey available that positively supplements your diet.

It’s always confused me when I ask people why they choose to take their current protein supplement and they say, “Because it’s cheap”.

Would you put the cheapest oil in a Ferrari to make it run more efficiently? No. So if you really are motivated to get the best out of taking a supplement – take the best quality! If not, then I know who my money is on to be the best.

That said, the options available for taking the purest form of whey, Hydrolysed Whey Protein lsolate (HWP), are hard to find. They’re either hard to take on-the-go, not available at a good price or simply there is a lack of public knowledge around why HWP is more superior.

About Hydrolysed Whey Protein Isolate

Although HWP has been around for many years, it’s been massively overshadowed by the cheaper, mass-marketed Whey Protein Concentrate (WPC). WPC is the same dairy source as HWP, however the additional filtration & hydrolysis of the protein (breaking down the amino acids) means that HWP is faster acting, much lower in fat, sugar & lactose. It’s therefore in its purest form, making it a popular choice with elite athletes.

We’ve not chosen HWP because it’s the most profitable for us either, we’ve chosen it because it’s the highest quality. Sourced from grass-fed cows we know that our whey’d protein truly is the best! Trust me, we’ve checked.

When we want the finest wine, we buy French. When we want the best, most sustainable dairy, we buy Irish. Why? Because Irish cows graze outside longer than any other cow in Europe – at least 80% of the time in fact, and due to perfect grass growing conditions, it means our cows have a luscious expanse of the good green stuff year round! Also, a cow fed on grass has 5x more CLA (one of the two types of essential fatty acids that help the body increase metabolic rates, boost the immune system and keep cholesterol levels in check) than grain fed cows. Yes please.

Our Mission

We want to be synonymous with high quality & we’ve compared our whey’d with other options on the market and can show you whey we think ours is the best. That’s mission one complete!

Mission two is to make HWP more accessible for the masses. Our single serve protein sachets make it easier to take whey protein on-the-go and soon will be available in gyms & retail outlets (now available online) so you can grab one whilst out and about. In the future, our new larger bags of whey’d protein will offer a different style of packaging, for everyone from elite athletes, casual gym goers to Armed Forces.

So hopefully this help clarifies why I went on an Indiana Jones style mission & scoured the world to unearth the holy grail of whey protein, rather than opting for the cheapest. If you do want a premium, superior whey come and visit us!

(Or just send us a joke, we like jokes!)
